Kingfisher in the Rushes (Male) – Delicious Doodles
Cloaked Lady – Delicious Doodles
Goth Guy and Gothic Bride – Delicious Doodles
Delicious Doodles is having a DT call. I honestly never thought I would have an opportunity to try out for Delicious Doodles and this opportunity has arisen. I have had the pleasure of working with Teri’s stamps through working with other Design Teams and I have chosen her stamps to work with on my own. But it is exciting to even try out for her team. This blog is one that I haven’t used in quite some time because I had it for the darker images. The top image “Kingfisher in the Rushes” is actually at my other blog: scrapclose2theheart.wordpress.com/ I did it for a couple of male March birthdays I have coming up. I think that my style is mostly CAS. I am a Christian grandmother and a biological mommy to two sons, Patrick and Wes, and two four-legged sons, Jax and Neda. Jax is a Shi Poo and Neda is a Shi Tzu. I have been working hard trying to learn to color and create with all types of images as well as learning all types of card making techniques. I feel that being on the Delicious Doodles Design Team will afford me that opportunity. Thank you for considering me. As always…Beware of Dark Shadows…Bwahaha….
Today is Poisoned Peas Please 9th Challenge – The Walking Dead. I was blessed enough to get the image “Black Widow” from Rick St. Dennis’ Etsy Shop. You can see Black Widow by clicking on the name and the entire etsy collection by clicking on Rick’s name. I honestly love the image. The font is called “Corps – Script” and is a little difficult to read. It says, “Lost my Mister, Lost My Sister, Where can I find my next vict…Um…Er…I mean…do you know where I can find a midnight rave?” Here is the list of Copics I used on her:
BV-02, 13, 17
C-00, 7, 9
R-11, 27, 46, 56, 59, 83, 85, 89
The Poisoned Peas Please have a group at The Crafter’s Cafe here and we are pleased to announce that now Rick St. Dennis has a group at The Crafter’s Cafe as well if you click here.
This is a sad time for me. This is my last post for The Poisoned Peas Please. I have had to step down due to some health problems my husband is having. Right now we are afraid to make any long term commitments to anyone. I hope that my card inspires you to play this month for the challenge “The Walking Dead”. Rick St. Dennis has a bunch of fun images to play with. There is always plenty of inspiration at the blog, Poisoned Peas Please, as my teammates are some of the MOST talented group of ladies I know. They always have amazing artwork to post. You can visit Rick’s group at Facebook or they also have a challenge blog called, “Sparkle and Glitter.” Be sure to come visit me on my other blog. As I say a sorrowful good-bye I leave you with these words…Beware dark shadows…Bwahaha…
Happy Monday and the fun theme at Poisoned Peas Please for October has been and continues to be SUGAR SKULLS/DAY OF THE DEAD. We want to see anything you create but it must have skulls with flowers and/or anything celebrating the Day of the Dead. You will have until November 3, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. to enter.
Our sponsor for our 8th Challenge has been the very talented Megan with Dilly Beans. If you need an awesome Sugar Skull digi, Megan has great ones. Just click on Halloween and you will be taken to everything with skulls. Dilly Beans is offering the winner picked by Random.org their choice of 3 (three) digital stamps.
I chose #420 Sugar Skulls Stacked. I had so much fun coloring it. I was looking at all of the “Day of the Dead” Sugar Skulls on Google images and deciding which colors to use and I loved that you could use such bright, cheerful colors. The “Day of the Dead” is a cheerful celebration. I briefly spoke to a lady from Austin that had lived in San Antonio and she told me that they celebrated it there. We have such a rich Mexican history in Texas. I am just not in one of the towns nor was I raised in one of the towns that was very close to Mexico. I am about 6 hours from San Antonio or El Paso. It would be fun to have more first hand knowledge of what this day is all about. Anyway, I made 4 bookmarks and I am willing to give 2 of them away if anybody is interested. You would need to be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me that you are interested. Here is a list of the Copics that I used:
RV-04, 06, 09, 13, 17, 19, 25, 29
Y-15, 17, 19
I had the skull charms already. I bought them off Etsy from Charm Emporium. The charms were called “Day of the Dead”. The shop is closed until Wednesday the 24th so I cannot give you a link right now. But you can find them there if they still have any. I hope you have been inspired to create. You can always go to Poisoned Peas Please as the Design Team there is really awesome. One or more of them should be able to inspire you. And if they don’t I have checked out the entries and there is some fabulous inspiration there I guarantee it! :) Please join us. You will enjoy yourself. After you have checked out our blog you should join our group at The Stamping Boutique. We have fun there too. Until we meet again…Beware Dark Shadows…Bwahahahahahaha…
I chose The Oval from Simply Betty Stamps to do my project. I loved it so much I decided to make a clock out of it and hang it in my scrap room. The hands were a little dark so I put some Stickles on them. The cogs were sent to me by Ms. Kristy Deyette because she is the bestest friend evAH. She helps a girl out in a bind! Recollections has a paper pack called Steampunk Botanica now and I used a sheet of that for the background. If you look closely you can see a butterfly on the left of the woman. It also had the place for a picture where I cut out and my husband put the clockworks for me. The gray flower is Jolee’s Boutique and came from Michael’s. “The Oval Portrait” is a short story by Edgar Allan Poe involving the disturbing circumstances surrounding a portrait in a chateau.* I think that is one of the reasons I picked this particular digital image. Well, I picked it first and then found out the background later but I was definitely intrigued after I found out.
Please come join us at Poisoned Peas Please. This challenge runs until Saturday, October 6th. Simply Betty is offering 3 digital stamps of your choice from her store to the winner. I hope that I have inspired you to come out and play with us. I am doing my best to do quality work and try to get you excited to play. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. We as the Design Team are here for you! Until we meet again…Beware Dark Shadows…BWAhahahahahahaha
Today starts a very special blog hop for a very special person and friend, Aletha Williams. Aletha, THIS IS YOUR LIFE! Actually, Aletha’s friends love her so much they wanted to do something very special for her and this is what we came up with. Are you surprised Aletha? Aletha’s gorgeous art can be seen many places around the internet. But we at The Crafter’s Cafe have been blessed to spend a good deal of time with her. The Stamping Boutique with Tracey at the helm has graciously offered a free digital stamp in honor of Aletha’s birthday blog hop. This stamp has a special meaning because it is named, “Fairy Aletha” and it is one of Aletha’s favorite stamps. It will only be on my blog today and tomorrow. If you miss it you can buy it here at The Stamping Boutique store. You may want to shop around anyway because they have some cool stamps. I am always buying stamps in there. We have a lot of fun together. Aletha is the head of Poisoned Peas Please. You may have heard of that little group? She whips us into shape.
Here is the free digital stamp:

Isn’t it adorable? Please be sure to stop by The Stamping Boutique and thank Tracey for so graciously donating this. I hope you are enjoying the hop so far. Here is my birthday card for Aletha.
The reason I used this stamp called “Grand Chief” by Papelitos is because Aletha is on the DT at Lady Anne’s Paper Crafts. We are doing a color challenge and Aletha chose the colors. She said that she had chosen a wonderful Picture of my favourite Native American Running Bear. She did a stunning Southwestern picture for the challenge. Since Aletha and I both live here around the Indian country I wanted to do something I knew she likes. I have a grandson that is 1/2 Choctaw Indian. Inside the sentiment is, “Happy Birthday to the Big Chief!” I know you are ready to move on to the next person. Thanks for helping us in wishing Aletha a Happy Birthday!
Here is the rest of the blog hop list:

Until we meet again…Beware Dark Shadow…Bwahaha
There are still 12 days left to enter the Poisoned Peas Please Challenge #6 Dark Fairy Tales. Ike’s Art provided us with the most awesome digital stamps for this challenge as you can see from the cards that I did. I love The Beauty and The Beast stamp that I colored as well as the Snow White stamp. If I had time I would have done the Rapunzel one too. I probably would have done all of them. Perhaps, one of these times, I will challenge myself to create with each and every stamp provided from one of our sponsors. Wouldn’t that be an awesome idea? That would be a great way to show our sponsors and our followers just how awesome our sponsors are!
Poisoned Peas Please is a wonderful place to work on your alternative art. It hasn’t been around very long as you can tell with us only being on Challenge #6. I had the best time thinking about Snow White and “the dark side”. Do you realize that most of the fairy tales were dark until Disney got hold of them? I actually got my idea from the scene in “Chicago” where the woman in jail keeps saying that she told her husband “if you pop your gum one more time”… It made me think how tiring it would be at times to hear 7 little men singing, “Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It’s Off to work we go…” Can you imagine it for yourself? I found this awesome lip chair at Designs by Nicole. Then I decided the inside really should say, “Well Behaved Women rarely make History”. Here is my list of copics:
E-000, 00, 02, 25
R-17, 20, 35, 37
Y-17, 19, 21
And I also used Tim Holtz Distress Inks Vintage Photo and Fired Brick. I hope that you are inspired to join in the fun at Poisoned Peas Please for Challenge #6. What could be more fun that taking your favorite Disney movie or fairy tale and exploring the darker side of it? OK, think of it this way if you will…that is why it is called a challenge! :) I hope to see you again soon. Until we see each other again, avoid the alleys and Beware Dark Shadows….Bwahaha…
I sign up to do more than I can do. I want to do it all. And then I see more things that I want to do and I do them too. Well, that is what I am asking by, “Are you one of those people?” That is the type person I am. I have more projects than I could possibly do and I have been out of town twice this month but I wanted to do this challenge that they are having over at Smeared and Smudged. The challenge is their Very Sketchy August Challenge. I bought the “Candle Poe” digital stamp from Ike’s Art. Ike is a very talented artist and you should go check out her store if you haven’t already. She is one of the few people who still sell her stamps for $2. The raven frame I got from Julie’s Jazz Designz . When you go there you will get a warning that it is an adult site and you have to click if you want to go further or not. It was an older freebie and it doesn’t even come up now when I click on it. I was able to google it yesterday to get it. I had the Raven on the red block as a freebie from one of the Friday the 13ths we had this year. I didn’t have a name for who gave it though so I apologize to whomever gave it. I couldn’t locate the generous donor. If you know and can give me this information I would be happy to give credit where credit is due! The font is “A Dripping Marker” and can be found here for free at Fontspace.
I used copic markers as well as Tim Holtz Distress Markers and here is my list:
Tim Holtz Distress Markers: Antique Linen, Black Soot, Brushed Corduroy, Milled Lavender, Old Paper, Picket Fence, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain
Copic Markers: Black 100 C-3,5,6,7,8,9 Y-000
On the Raven: Copics: Black 100 C-6,7,8 E-81 R-89
One last thing I want to mention before I go is that Smeared and Smudged is gearing up for their 4th annual “31 Days of Halloween”. You have the option to sign up to be “ A Wicked Blogger”, “A Horrifying Hopper”, or “A Sinister Lurker”. You can read about each of the ways to participate by following the link above. Honestly, I know I am not qualified to be “A Wicked Blogger”. And we have already discussed my problem earlier in this post but I WANT to participate so I HAVE to be one of the remaining two. I just don’t know which. I have never been part of anything so detailed. Have you? Thirty-one days is a LONG time and a lot of projects not to mention a lot of blogging. I know most of the other women over there and they are SO talented that they will blow your socks off! You won’t want to miss it! It will be a lot of fun. I don’t know if I have 31 different ideas. Hehe
Well, I hope that you are inspired to go out and create. You still have until the last day of the month to enter this particular challenge. They are giving away an awesome digi to everyone who enters the challenge. That is worth the price of admission right there. Go out and create, enjoy the gift that you have to create awesome art. We never know when that gift could be taken away from us. And, be sure to check into the “31 Days of Halloween 4”. I know you would regret missing that event. I am sure that if I don’t get on the stick, I am going to be mad that I didn’t get involved. Until we meet again…Beware Dark Shadows…Bwahaha…..
Today starts Poisoned Peas Please Challenge #6 — Dark Fairy Tales sponsored by one of our own team members, Ike. Ike has created some brand new images for our design team to work with. You need to check out her store, Ike’s Art, for some of her newest designs. Ike’s illustration talent is out of this world.
The challenge runs through September 8th. We want to see any kind of art you want to create, be it cards, altered art, ATCs, journal pages, fat books, anything that your heart desires, but we want an actual fairy tale with a “dark” nature. Most of the original fairy tales are very dark, at least until Disney got a hold of them. That’s what we want to see, the “dark” in that fairy tale. Please be sure to check out the challenge rules! Now, let’s see if I can give you some inspiration! 🙂
I chose “Beauty and The Beast” from one of Ike’s illustrations that she has yet to release.
Here is the list of Copics I used:
I used some gray & white chalk for the background. I honestly love this movie & I love this illustration. I loved doing the hair & experimenting with the color of his skin & teeth. This was a fun digi for me. Ike is offering a $10 gift certificate to her store, Ike’s Art, for the winner of this challenge. That sounds like a fun prize to me.
After you have entered, come show us your little piece of a “Dark” Fairy Tale at The Crafter’s Café – Poisoned Peas Please.
Please go to the Poisoned Peas Please Challenge Blog to see all the wonderful inspiration there is there to see and they will be adding more inspiration in a couple of weeks. Be sure to check that out. I’m sure it will have you excited to craft! This is definitely a fun challenge. Have a fun day & I hope you have been inspired to create. Remember to “Beware Dark Shadows!”….Bwahaha
Happy Monday and welcome to the third week of our Challenge #5 for Poisoned Peas Please (PPP)
is “Unusual Alice,” Alice in Wonderland, that is. We want to see all types of projects (ATCs, cards, 3D, altered art, art journals, etc) that you want to create and show us. You do have to stay with the theme of “Unusual Alice.” What is your interpretation of “Unusual Alice?” We really don’t want to see sweet and cuddly AIW, but make your AIW project just as “unusual” as you can. Do read the challenge rules before posting your entry, please. Remember to have fun!
Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is The Stamping Boutique
(TSB). The Owner/Artist, Tracey Malnofski
, of TSB is offering the prize of three (3) digis of your choice from her online shop. Tracey has also graciously given our PPP Design Team a few of her very imaginative AIW images.
There are still 2 weeks left to enter. After you stop by and look at Poisoned Peas Please and what the DT has made for your viewing pleasure then I hope you are inspired to enter the challenge as well as drop in to The Crafter’s Cafe — Poisoned Peas Please Group
. You can post your entry there as well. We want you to show off what you have made!!! The end of Challenge #5 is August 4th. We certainly would LOVE to see your entries!
Okay, now for some specifics on the piece I chose to do, The Mad Hatter. I used:
The background is from AMTP_Cluster_1. I hope that I have been able to inspire you. That is always my goal to create great art & inspiration. If you have been inspired then I have done my job. Please DO join us at PPP. There are so many wonderful Alice In Wonderland images. I am excited to see what you create with them. As you go forward…Beware Dark Shadows…BWAHAHA…
