Cloaked Lady

PPP is having the May challenge still “Wicked Stepmother”.  I used a Delicious Doodles image titled “Cloaked Lady”  which you can get by clicking on the link.  I had some snakeskin pp & some pp that had the words all over it “panic and freak out now”.  I chose to use those as bg papers.  I also had a small black heart & I used the Black Diamond Stickles to make it stick out just a little more.  I would love it if you would join us at PPP Challenge Blog, you still have 2 weeks to join in this challenge.  We would love to have you come chat with us on the Crafter’s Cafe Poisoned Peas Please and share your projects.

My Daddy’s Wedding Pishr With His New Wife

Poisoned Peas Please Challenge #3 – Our theme is, and in recognition of Mother’s Day, “Wicked Step-Mother

I used the images Goth Guy and Gothic Bride from Delicious Doodles.  You can find all of these by clicking on the links.  My 6 year old grandson was over the night I was coloring so I asked him how he would spell picture and that is how I came up with the spelling, “Pishr”.  He really did pretty good I thought.  He is just about to graduate from kindergarten.  I used a 9″ x 12″ canvas panel.  I took my TH Vintage Photo Distress Stain and spread it throughout the picture.  I had colored my images.  I used the square pop ups to give it some depth.  Then I took Antique Matte Mod Podge and put 2 coats on to help make this look older.  I was really pleased with the results.  I did use Stardust Stickles on the wedding dress to make it stand out more.  Here is the list of copics I used:

C1, C3, C5, C7

E29, E41

R24, R27, R59, R89

Y00, Y13, Y19

At You Spica 10 Black & 12 Silver

Promarkers Grey1 & Grey3

I loved, loved, loved doing this project.  It was a very fun project.  I hope that you will join in on this challenge.  Beware Dark Shadows~~~~

Confessions Smeared In Ink

It’s that time again!  Time for the Smeared and Smudged member blog hop. Our hop will be on THURSDAY, MAY 17th and will go live at 9am PST.

“With this month’s Mother’s Day celebration we thought it would be fun to have a few confessions from our members….Use your art to show us something you have never told your Mom about yourself…or about something you have done. Step outside your comfort zones – the smudgier the better!!! It can be a canvas, a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item, an art journal page, etc. Use your imaginations. Also, don’t forget the S&S rule that is has to be stamped somewhere (digi stamps are fine) – we love when you use Smeared Ink stamps, but it is NOT a requirement to participate.”

For those that don’t know me, I am scrapunzel on Blogger, scrapunzel1 on WordPress & Patti most anywhere else. You should have arrived here from Lady Brayton’s awesome blog. If not, no problem. I will post the hop list at the end of this post to get you back on track or to enable you to start at the beginning.

I used Drinking Buddy Elfette.   You can click on the link to get your own image.  I did 5 images & used copics to color.  On the back 4 images I used the exact same colors, however I started with the 1st one & used my ProMarkers & colored over the entire image with Grey 1, Grey 2, Grey 3, & Grey 4.  So each image got a little darker & a little darker.  I used 3 pearls for the buttons & I used the black copic marker to color them.  I got the “Too Damn Drunk” font from a free site off the Internet & you can get yours from here:

Now the truth is I cannot tell my Mom anything & she will go to her grave not knowing anything.  I honestly envy those of you who have such close relationships with your Mom.  And while my Mom wouldn’t know how to come on here & find this, my children & grandchildren would & once it is on the computer, it is out there forever for anyone to find out.  So I will tell a couple of stories.  One my Mom probably knew but didn’t ever say anything about & the other she didn’t know.  When I was married to my first husband, his work gave him a bottle of whiskey or something that he wanted me to drink.  I DID NOT want to drink any of it.  He kept badgering me about it so in anger I just took the bottle & drank it straight.  Well, of course I drank way too much & I ended up going to bed & lying down.  (My parents never came over to visit.)  But that particular night who came knocking on the door but my Mom & Dad.  I was in bed so my ex was talking to them & I had to upchuck so bad but I didn’t want them to see me.  I heave hoed right there in the bed.  The next thing I heard was my parents saying, “I think we had better leave now!”  It is hilarious to me now.

The next story is probably more about my second ex husband than me but I was involved.  He always drank fairly heavy & drank while driving.  We would make trips between here & Dallas which to most people is a 6 hour drive but to him was a 5 hour drive.  I think I probably had had a drink or two that night but nothing big.  He drank the entire way as usual.  Well, about 40 minutes before we got home, he got pulled over.  (I should mention here that he was black & yes my parents knew about that!)  LOL  Anyway, they asked him if he had been drinking & I think he told them he had had a drink or two.  They asked him to do the usual tests & then decided to take him down to the station to give him a breath-a-lizer test.  They asked me if I had been drinking & I was shaking my head no as fast as I possibly could.  They wanted to know if I could drive the car & follow them down to the station.  I don’t remember how many kids or if we even had taken any kids with us on that trip.  Anyway, I followed them down to the station wondering what I was going to do if he failed.  I didn’t have the money to get him out & I knew that was going to make him mad.  And I didn’t know who to call.  (He was 12 years older than me so he was very controlling.)  Anyway, I got down to the pokey & he was let go.  He laughed & laughed.  I asked him how in the world he passed the test & he said that he sucked on his tongue the entire way down to the station.  Now I don’t know if that really works to this day but it certainly worked for him that night!

Thanks for sticking with me through my lengthy post!  I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation & confessions.

Your next stop on the hop is the fun & always marvelous Monique.
If you get lost along the way, don’t worry, just use the list to get back on your way!

Cosmic Love

Rock N Rolla Challenge May from Smeard & Smudged:

This is a challenge that will focus on finding visual inspiration from music videos! It is supposed to be fun and make you think out of the box.

Each month I will post a link to a video for you to view. Find something in the video that visually inspires you and make a project based on that.

Florence and The Machine- Cosmic Love

You can find the video HERE

I love the way this turned out.  I got the idea from my friend, Kristy.  She saw the video & remarked, “Leaves & lots of light.”  I had been thinking another direction.  I was really focused on the eyes.  However, I looked again & decided to take a 6″ x 8″ art board & cover it with leaves & then draw the shape of a woman & do it with mosaic.  That was b/c I was thinking about light through a stain glass window.  I then used the eyes b/c I had first been so focused on them.  This is the first time I have ever done a mosaic & I am happy with the way it turned out.  This can be hung up on the wall & if Kristy decides she wants it then it is totally hers!  I am SO thankful for her for giving me the idea.  I have thanked her over & over b/c she has helped me learn so many new techniques.  She has been a Godsend to me.  I hope you enjoy this & I hope that you are having a Happy Mother’s Day wherever you are!

Beware Dark Shadows!  😉

Mistress Vampyra

Good evening friends or morning depending on where you live!   I have made a card today.   I am entering Smudgy Antics challenge “Drop Dead Gorgeous.” (Follow the link so you too can play in the challenge.)

I have used Smeared Ink’s “It’s About Time Hour Glass” Digi.   (Follow the link to get yours.)

The BG paper is digi paper I printed out.  It’s from Bearly Mine Designs.  Mistress Vampyra is from Rick St. Dennis.

I used my copics to color her & the hour glass.  I took wax crayons, copics, & then cranberry alcohol ink to make the blood.  I had some bling in my stash to use for earrings.  The poem I made up to fit the image:

PPP’s Challenge No. 2 is Starting Today!

This is for Poisoned Peas Please Challenge No. 2!
This Poisoned Peas Please (PPP) challenge is right up April’s alley (the month silly, not the girl). The theme is “Fool’s Game.” We want to see your interpretation of what you think a “Fool’s Game” might imply. We want you to create anything you like! This means you can create cards, ATCs, mixed-media, collage, altered art, etc.  This challenge will run until Monday, April 9, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. CST until May 5, 11:59 p.m.  I am definitely cutting it to the wire.  You can find the challenge here: Now here is my entry:
I should have turned off the ceiling fan before I took the picture.  It was blowing the card sideways.  However, I think you can get the gist of it.  I was thinking of how sometimes a small show will make their own signs.  And, I was thinking how they sometimes will add a word & put an arrow so these things were done on purpose.  I hope you enjoy my card.  Please  join me again & please feel free to comment & give me suggestions b/c I am happy to receive constructive criticism as well as praise!  Thanks.
Until we meet again…
